Hello, my name is Emma Stuefen, and I am glad that you are here. Outside of work I enjoy playing intramural sports and being active as well as visiting my nieces and nephew.
I received my bachelor’s degree in social work from Miami of Ohio and not long after my master’s in social work from the University of Michigan. I have experience sitting with older adults as they navigated trauma and advocated for their needs. I also love working with college students and children while entering into their worldview. My training has led me to encounter you as a person with many different parts that are helping you manage all aspects of your life. In addition to internal family systems, I use family systems theory as a modality since I believe everyone’s environment and family roles affect how you show up today. Lastly, I value a person-centered care approach so I look to you for determining goals and my role is to simply facilitate and guide.
I highly value your courage in seeking out therapy. My aim is to receive you and your story with honor and grace while guiding you to greater freedom through healing. I believe you should be accompanied on your journey and it would be a privilege to do so.
