Helping Children, Teens, and Young Adults Thrive
At Grace Integrated, we provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling services for children, adolescents, and young adults throughout Chicago and the western suburbs. Our therapists partner with young people and their families to address emotional, behavioral, academic, and social concerns while helping each client build the skills needed to thrive both now and in the future.

Overview
Youth counseling is specialized mental health care designed to support the emotional, social, behavioral, and developmental needs of children, adolescents, and young adults. Because young people process emotions differently than adults, therapy is tailored to each client’s age, developmental stage, personality, and individual needs.
Our therapists help young clients understand their thoughts and feelings, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen communication skills, improve emotional regulation, and build resilience. Sessions may include talk therapy, play-based techniques, creative activities, skill-building exercises, or family involvement depending on the client’s age and treatment goals.
Our goal is not simply to reduce symptoms but to help young people build the confidence, resilience, and emotional skills they need for lifelong success.
Youth counseling can help with:
We understand that every child is different. Our therapists create a warm, welcoming environment where young clients feel safe expressing themselves while working collaboratively with parents and caregivers whenever appropriate. Whether your child is experiencing anxiety, behavioral challenges, school stress, family transitions, or simply needs additional emotional support, we are here to help.
Parents and caregivers are often an important part of the therapeutic process. While respecting a young person’s privacy, our therapists collaborate with families to reinforce progress outside of sessions and create consistency across home, school, and other environments.
Is this the right time?
Every child experiences emotional ups and downs. However, when challenges begin interfering with school, relationships, daily functioning, or overall happiness, counseling may provide valuable support.
Treatment Options
Parents and caregivers also receive guidance when appropriate to help reinforce new skills at home and support their child’s emotional growth outside of therapy.

Your Journey

The first appointment focuses on getting to know your child, understanding your concerns, reviewing developmental history, and discussing treatment goals. Depending on your child’s age, portions of the session may include both the child and parent or caregiver.

Your therapist will work collaboratively with your family to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your child’s strengths, challenges, and developmental needs.

Sessions are designed to be engaging, supportive, and age-appropriate. Young clients practice coping skills, emotional awareness, communication techniques, and problem-solving strategies while building trust with their therapist.
Parents may periodically join sessions to review progress, learn supportive strategies, and strengthen communication at home.

As therapy progresses, many children and teens experience improved emotional regulation, increased confidence, healthier relationships, stronger coping skills, and greater success at home, school, and in social settings.
Our goal is to help young people develop lifelong emotional wellness—not simply address today’s concerns.
