Hello! My name is Dorothy Shaw and I am passionate about helping others have a greater understanding of themselves, draw upon their innate strengths, and move forward into their desired future. I am passionate about helping my clients recover from life’s challenges and find meaning in their lives that will allow them to live more fulfilled, satisfying lives. I will help you consider your past history and your current life situation in order to help you find the tools you need to live authentically. My approach to therapy is client centered, making our relationship the most important part of our work together. I will create a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your inner world.  I am a Clinical Associate with my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University.  I also have many years of experience as a Gallup Strengths Coach and a lifetime of experience as a teacher.

I am passionate about working with teens and young adults, individuals, and couples. My clinical approach is holistic, existential, environmental, and cognitive behavioral. I seek to help my clients find meaning and purpose in their lives while addressing their thoughts and the effects of those thoughts on their physical and spiritual well being and ensuing behaviors.
