Hi there! I am Atalissa Dean (she/her) and I am here to listen and support you on your journey creating the life you envision while addressing the complexities of today’s world. You are a unique and resilient person with individual strengths all your own. Together we can work towards overcoming obstacles that inhibit your ability to move through life in the way that you want. When we generate even a small positive change in our own life, that change ripples through our entire community and can radically change the lives of those around us.
As a graduate level clinician working towards a M.A. in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University I am passionate about building environments where empathy and introspection lead to self empowerment. Whether working with adults, couples, adolescents or kids, I strive to create a non-judgmental, safe and supportive space, so that clients feel empowered to fully utilize the therapeutic space. My approach to therapy includes acceptance and commitment through a trauma informed lens and integrates elements of CBT, play, bibliotherapy and narrative therapy,
As a queer neurodivergent counselor I am enthusiastic about affirming and working with LGBTQIA+ folks and ADHDers. The issues I work with (but are not limited to) include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and self-discovery.
