My name is Kim McKinney, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois, with over 5 years experience, primarily providing therapy and life coaching to adolescents in Chicago. I’ve worked with adults and teens with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship/family issues, self-esteem, and anger issues. I have specialized in working with those who have experienced trauma (physical, mental, emotional) in their home or in their communities.

Reaching out for help can be difficult, so my warm and friendly manner will hopefully put you at ease.  I believe a sense of humor can assist us to acknowledge our humanity and celebrate that even the smallest adjustment can effect change and improve our quality of life. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, and solution-based counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
