My name is Jenae Henao and I am currently on the path to becoming a licensed professional counselor. I am a graduate student at Trinity Christian College where I’m obtaining my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my studies, I’ve also spent time volunteering for the Crisis Textline where I’ve offered immediate emotional support, active listening, and crisis interventions to callers in distress. 

I take a client centered approach to therapy in order to allow my clients to see their full potential. Each client has the ability to heal, especially so if they’re in a judgement free and understanding environment. 

My goal as a counselor is to ensure each client is met with the empathy and compassion they need to heal while also providing them with an individualized treatment plan that’s backed by evidence based approaches. Helping others has become my greatest passion and I am driven to bring positivity and light into the darkest of places through the gift of therapy. 

I know reaching out for help can be tough. We have been taught in many ways from our families, cultures, and society to “be strong,” and the good thing is there is still strength in seeking support. If this resonates with you, I hope we can walk down the path of healing together!
