I believe the purpose of psychotherapy is to improve the quality of life for an individual, couple, or family by improving their view of self, their communication, and how they interact in relationships. I also believe that relationships play a major role in how individuals interact with others and the world and their view of self. My approach to psychotherapy is based in systems theory, which means that I approach individuals, families, and couples from the view that they are affected by their relationships and environments and vice versa. Clients should expect to experience better communication, better understanding of self and relationships, and develop better techniques to resolve issues. I utilize strategic family therapy models mixed with emotionally focused therapy to help clients understand the dynamics in their relationships and improve their self-view and relationship interactions and perspectives.
I obtained my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University Online. I am a practicing Christian and have been married for 13 years.
