Hi, My name is Busola Carrena. My decision to become a therapist was out of a heart desire to listen, encourage and help people not to feel alone because we are never alone. I have also grown in passion to help provide solutions to the best of my ability and knowledge. I do this by working collaboratively with clients and using different theoretical approaches like CBT, and person centered therapy. In therapy, one way I could help you is by changing your beliefs that are holding you back from fulfilling your destiny and empower you to be who you were created to be. I also continue to learn new ways to help you. The most important thing to me is ensuring we are working together and helping you achieve what you want for your life. 

My professional experience includes using strength based, person centered, solution focused, CBT and integrative clinical counseling approach to provide individual counseling to adults and adolescents in the community and individuals in jail who were struggling with mental health issues. I also have experience working in a faith based mental health agency. 

 I am a Christian and this is a major part of my identity so I offer faith based counseling also. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a psychology degree and from Emporia State University with a Masters degree in clinical counseling. In my free time, you can catch me watching YouTube or Korean dramas. It’s my hope that you feel safe and welcomed in the therapeutic space at all times. Welcome!
