Welcome! I’m John, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) at Grace Integrated, and when I’m not out skateboarding, playing guitar with my friends, or caring for my old-world tarantulas alongside my partner, I provide Outpatient Therapy to individuals across the lifespan — from toddlers as young as two, through children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. With over seven years of experience in the field and a Master’s degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work, I approach each client with compassion, empathy, and respect. My foundation in psychology, earned through a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, has helped shape the way I see people — not as diagnoses, but as individuals with unique stories and strengths. I take life one day at a time, and I bring that mindset into therapy: meeting you where you are and working together toward meaningful change.
In our work together, I use a client-centered approach, drawing from a wide range of therapeutic modalities depending on your needs, background, and goals. Some of my primary approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy, Sand Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Music Therapy. Whether we’re working on emotional regulation, improving communication and relationships, processing trauma, or navigating depression and anxiety, my aim is to use these tools to help create a treatment plan that evolves with you. Every modality is a guidepost — not a rulebook — and I tailor my therapeutic approach to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and find connection in a way that feels right to you.
