My practice is about encouraging the process of recovery- whether it is recovery from mental illness, trauma, alcohol and drug use, or other types of addictions, including sex, food, gambling, and shopping. Recovery is made possible by a willingness to change, courage to commit, and the help of supportive people. I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space for you to express and process your deepest thoughts and feelings and to work on removing what is blocking your path to success and contentment.
I received my master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago, with a specialization in mental health. I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) candidate. My professional experience includes working with clients experiencing mood disorders, addiction, grief, and difficulties in adjustment and life transitions. I have worked in a hospital, community mental health, school, and clinical settings.
My counselling approach is strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I have an eclectic approach and draw from multiple treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
